My Professional Practice Roundup
I recently participated in a fun and engaging scavenger hunt, centered on professional development and collaboration.
A conference I would like to attend
This conference would be a perfect opportunity for me to network with other IT professionals within the region. This would help me to get more insight into strategies and technology used by these professionals in this region and beyond. This conference is focused on strategic planning which I can use in developing school based tech programs.
Scavenger Hunt Activity
This is a great activity fo the beginning of the year/quarter, or evener the end of a unit. It’s a great way for you to get to know students, and also for students to get to know themselves better.
Overcoming Stereotypes
This activity builds on a digital citizenship lesson on cyberbullying and empathy. It extends student learning about empathy and provides a great way to apply the concept learned. It will be important to ensure students understand that perpetuating stereotypes isn’t necessarily bullying.
My Hobbies
I have many hobbies but, my main one has actually morphed into a business. It was difficult (as always) to find images of myself as I’m usually the one taking all the pics. Featured is my colleague Savita who I met in 2018 and we bonded instantly over photography. She is super talented and i’m always impressed by her work. I have photographed her in many different settings but she's yet to catch me… hahaha. I didn’t take that photo of her but managed to get help finding at least one image of her with a camera, as like me, she’s usually the one taking photos. I’ve just realized that we have no selfies together. I will fix that.

Major Achievement!
“The biggest challenge I faced was the fear of the class being completely chaotic or completely boring. I then realized after the first class, that I just needed to take the plunge to get over the fear.”
A Professional Ethic I Live by
Attention to detail: Anything coming from me should always be well done.
